Psalms 139:13-16

13 For you have possessed my temperament. You have supported me from the womb of my mother.

14 I will confess to you, for you have been magnified terribly. Your works are miraculous, as my soul knows exceedingly well.

15 My bone, which you have made in secret, has not been hidden from you, and my substance is in accord with the lower parts of the earth.

16 Your eyes saw my imperfection, and all this shall be written in your book. Days will be formed, and no one shall be in them.

Reflection

Despite being from the Old Testament, I envision Jesus standing behind His Father's mission in this Psalm about the unique creation of life.

This Psalm captures David's awe and the feeling of being distinct from others made with care and given individual gifts.

The bond between God and us resembles a mother who is aware of every joy and distress. Nothing about us in unknown to God.

You were created and you remain a focus. There is no one quite like you, completely one-of-a-kind. God created you with care and had a plan for you from the start.

Every individual possesses a distinct purpose. We do not choose our spiritual gifts; He selects and weaves them within us.

You are entwined and imbued with strength.  He sees your creation as something beautiful.

Imagine yourself being woven intricately.

What are your spiritual gifts?

In what ways are you using or ignoring these gifts?

If you don’t know, ask your heavenly Father. He will provide guidance.

 Prayer

I praise God for who He is and what He has done, as I am wondrously made! Help guide me Lord in using your gifts in service to others.
